This book really excited me as I am always on the alert for leading others in a Christ-like manner. E. Scott Feather uses scripture to highlight the skill set of great leaders, and describes how God awakens great leaders through life experiences. Drawing from his own life experiences and those of people from the Bible, Feather explains how greatness is awakened and is put to use. He not only encourages the reader to find their greatness in their own leadership skills, but then challenges the reader to teach the skills to others. He explains what makes good leaders and what qualities ar not suitable for leadership. Filled with scripture and quotes from famous Christian leaders, the bibliography is a treasure in itself. All-in-all, this book is a must read for Christian leaders, and one I will read at least once a year as a refresher.Product details

Great book, well documented... with biblical references on the experiences of a leader and what it takes to be a leader in today's world. The number one take away for me was the power of prayer. All great biblical leaders had one thing in common, that they communicated constantly with God the Father. The power of prayer... and in the words of St. Paul, 1 Corinthians 1313 "and now these three remain faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love."
As a former teacher and current therapist working with kids and teens I found this book to provide valuable thought provoking ideas to not only refresh and motivate myself in areas where I was feeling discouraged but to reach the young people I serve. It has something to offer anyone who wants to develop their God given potential and serve/grow others
I think that leadership development is one of the "lost arts" in our world today. Scott does a great job of talking about ways to pull leadership traits out of those who may not know that they are an aspiring leader. It's a very helpful read for anyone who works with volunteers, leads groups, is a boss or even parents! I encourage you to pick up a copy today to read for yourself!
This is a delightful conversation with a master storyteller. I was awakened in deeper and wider ways that to be a disciple of Jesus is to be a follower who leads. Period. Scott guides the reader to ponder the direction of their lives, the call that drives them and then goes the distance to show by example the wisdom of applying scripture to illuminate the way to true greatness. You won't find a to-do list, but instead a call to-be. Between the lines of these pages, at the feet of this man who handles the Word of God with skill and clarity while staying true to the context, I recommitted myself to both following and leading in the same step.
